These materials will allow our students with special needs to have an important role in our school. This will not only help our special needs students but it will also improve our school culture and attitudes of others. Allow our students to learn skills which will help them in everyday life. We will use the cart to help delivery items from the cafe. We will use the coffee machines and tea maker to ensure we have a variety of beverages. The bowls will be used for storage. The cash register will be to assist with ringing up items and giving correct change. Our cafe will be run by the special needs students from kindergarten to fifth grade. Each week we will open our cafe to the staff and students. In doing so, we are promoting social skills, filling orders, sequencing, problem solving, counting money, good hygiene, and many other skills that will be very beneficial. We will be making hot and cold beverages, sandwiches, salads, and desserts. With the resources we have requested our students will have equipment to begin our Cafe with. Our students will benefit from counting money and giving change, following instructions and directions, social skills with peers and staff, taking inventory, filling orders, and using their manners. These are only a few of the benefits.
