Social-Emotional Learning Resources
Funded Sep 21, 2022Thanks to your generous donations I was able to buy curriculum through Teacher's Pay Teachers for the small groups that I run on campus. Some of the small groups that I have been able to run this year were geared to work with students who are struggling behaviorally or focusing in the classroom, getting along with others, or having difficulty with managing their emotions. As a result of these various groups, I was able to service 382 group counseling contacts/students. All the students who participated always looked forward to our group sessions and were engaged by the curriculum that was purchased. They loved participating so much that they had a hard time when our groups ended and wanted to continue meeting. The highlight for me was that not only was able to establish relationships with these students, but the data gathered at the end of year showed that their attendance had improved and as well as their academic grades. I couldn't be happier with how successful my groups were thanks to your donations. We educators truly appreciate it as much as our students. Thank you for helping make this possible. We can't thank you enough!!”

This classroom project was brought to life by LOFT.Inclusive Library Books and Art Supplies
Funded Nov 1, 2021My students and I wanted to thank you for your generous donation to my counseling program by helping incorporate inclusive cultural practices within our school/my office! Thanks to your generous donation I was able to add books to my counseling library that is often used during individual counseling sessions with students when there is a need. The student really enjoyed the books and were able to relate to them.
This year for Kindness Week, I was able to visit all classrooms and incorporated various books to encourage empathy, acceptance, and inclusivity amongst our diverse student population. During these lessons we also had the opportunity to create self-portrait's.
I surprised the students with the Crayola Multicultural Markers and colored pencils that were donated. These art materials were so empowering. It was nice to see the student's smiles and eyes light up with excitement when they found a color that matched their skin tone. They were happy and had shared that they had never been able to do this with just the orange, brown or "peach" colors that usually come in a typical set of color pencil/markers. To end our lessons, I handed all our students some of the Kindness Cards which they all loved and served as a great reminder for them. I look forward to making our books a part of my yearly lessons and to continue to incorporate into counseling sessions.
Finally, the office decor added a nice personal touch and reminder to ALL students that they are ALL welcome. We are really appreciative of your donations that we will continue to use. Our work with kindness and inclusivity will continue now that we some more resources. Thank you for helping my students learn about each and feel like they belong.”
