Most of my classroom right now is very traditional. I have 29 desks and chairs and a carpet for direct instruction. I recently have added one ball chair, 2 wobble stool and 2 stadium seats. With only 5 choices, my students have to rotate to use them. The students that use them are much more engaged than when they are in a traditional desk. I would love to give my students more seating choices to work around the classroom. Many students need the sensory of a wobble stool or special bands on their chair or desk to help with focus and anxiety. The classroom is more student-centered if they have choices of laying down to read or reclining in a stadium seat to work on math problems. I have gone to thrift stores and bought a couple different tables for a variety of table choices. I would be grateful for the opportunity to add additional flexible seating to the classroom.
