These materials will give the students with more significant communication needs the opportunity to actively participate in the classroom environment. The adapted toys (e.g. plush dog, bubble blower) are highly motivating tools that will help teach the cause/effect skill needed to activate the verbal output device. Then once they have this skill, they can communicate a pre-recorded message. A message saying, 'hi', could be used to greet peers and a message saying, 'my turn', could be used during a turn-taking activity. These are just a few examples of how this device can be incorporated into a student's school day. Giving each child a voice is truly MAGICAL!
