  • Math on the Move

    Funded Aug 8, 2019

My class and I are so grateful for your generous donation! When we received our match games and math magnets the students were so excited and curious as to how we would use them. We have been able to incorporate the POP! game into our math centers and it is now a class favorite. I have been able to use the base ten magnets to practice addition and subtraction, this has helped their concrete understanding of simple math procedures. The base ten blocks I showed them but we have not used in a lesson yet because of the sequence of our math curriculum, but students are already getting excited for math just by seeing them on the board.

These items are not just for excitement and fun (though that does help)! These math magnets and games will help my students to be more fluent in simple and complex math problems. They serve as a concrete visual for the numbers on their paper. I am so thrilled to see my students learn and grow using these new items. You have helped our classroom greatly.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Barnes

  • Easel Come, Easel Go

    Funded Jul 25, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our easel project. This easel and the magnet letters have been a huge help to our classroom. The easel is used multiple times a day for many different activities such as morning meeting, shared reading, math, and literacy centers. I was able to receive this project before school started and it helped make my room to be complete when children and parents came in on the first day. I used it to gather information during meet the teacher. And we have used it every day since in our room.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Barnes

This easel will make a difference in my students’ learning by allowing me to display big books when I’m reading to the class and displaying phonics posters or other posters that will enhance their learning. My students would be able to write on a vertical surface as opposed to a horizontal surface that they are accustomed to writing on. Since this easel is mobile, it would be great to use for a math center with items such as, but not limited to, magnetic counters/ten frames, sequencing numbers, creating and completing patterns etc. We would also use it during our ELA centers (magnetic letters, word work, retelling stories, sentence structure). If we are limited to indoor recess, my students could enjoy drawing, writing and using magnetic letters, numbers, and manipulatives on it during free-choice center time. It has a storage area which could be utilized to store math magnetic manipulatives and magnetic pattern blocks, posters, wall cards, some big books, dry erase markers and erasers. This double-wide teaching easel with locking casters would be a great asset to our classroom.
