  • High Interest Books to Create High Achievers Part 4

    Funded Mar 9, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donations! We use our books to help encourage student choice in our space as well as promote a love of reading.

Many of my first graders were struggling readers at the beginning of the year and now the majority have read my entire classroom library. They are constantly begging me to buy new books for them. I am so fortunate that you were able to provide them with the books they are asking for.

We are forever grateful for the support you have provided and we will keep you posted on the upcoming projects and work! Thank you again for all you have done to support my students.”

  • Grab a Good Book and Read on a Tree Stump!

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

These new stools have been so great for our daily center rotations. Before we had to pull chairs from tables each time we needed to use our small group area. Now we have six light weight and stackable stools to use at all times. The students were SO excited when they came in and saw our brand new stools.

I was beyond impressed by the quality and the fact that I no longer have to worry about a stool breaking under a student. These stools stay nice and flat on the ground and are so much safer and even more fun to look at which is a great bonus.

The fact that they look like real stumps has really gotten the kids excited about coming to my group for reading or math! Thank you again and again for your generosity in donating to my class!”

  • Listen in on Learning!

    Funded Oct 27, 2019

I cannot express how huge the impact of this project has been on my class. Even with just 11 new pairs of head phones my students have been able to do so much more daily iPad work. We have implemented an online daily quiz that is imbedded in our math curriculum as well as an interactive practice buddy that allows students to solve and manipulate problems right on the iPad. The headphones allow them to hear the questions being read to them and the students are having so much fun with it.

It seems small but these headphones have made a huge difference in our day. The best part is that they are all the same and they all work! This is major because there is no time wasted trying to find the ones that actually work because they all work!

These headphones not only help us in math but also reading. Students are now able to have stories read to them and play phonics games by listening to letter sounds. This has really improved students writing and spelling skills.

Thank you so much for thinking of my class and donating to help us learn even more each day!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Barnes

  • Alexa, Help Fund My Donor's Choose Project!

    Funded Sep 23, 2019

My first graders are loving our new Alexa. She has been helping us and teaching us so many things. Every day Alexa tells us when it is time to clean up our centers. She reminds me to take the attendance. Alexa plays calming music when we are writing and working independently.

During snack time students are allowed to ask Alexa questions. They love to ask how things are made, for example "how are stickers made?". They like to ask why certain things happen, for example "why do the leaves change color?" Students are in awe of the answers that Alexa gives us.

Alexa can even cheer us up. We sometimes ask her to tell us a joke to make us laugh. My students all have numbers and Alexa can pick a random one to help me choose a helper. There are so many ways Alexa helps us every day. My students and I cannot thank you enough for the great gift you have given us.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Barnes

This easel will make a difference in my students’ learning by allowing me to display big books when I’m reading to the class and displaying phonics posters or other posters that will enhance their learning. My students would be able to write on a vertical surface as opposed to a horizontal surface that they are accustomed to writing on. Since this easel is mobile, it would be great to use for a math center with items such as, but not limited to, magnetic counters/ten frames, sequencing numbers, creating and completing patterns etc. We would also use it during our ELA centers (magnetic letters, word work, retelling stories, sentence structure). If we are limited to indoor recess, my students could enjoy drawing, writing and using magnetic letters, numbers, and manipulatives on it during free-choice center time. It has a storage area which could be utilized to store math magnetic manipulatives and magnetic pattern blocks, posters, wall cards, some big books, dry erase markers and erasers. This double-wide teaching easel with locking casters would be a great asset to our classroom.
