One of the greatest gifts a teacher can give to their students, is the gift of reading. Allowing children the opportunity to loose themselves in the world of a story is something that brings me such joy. I would love the opportunity to fill my library with high quality books that teach important lessons, represent different cultures, and plant the reading seed as early as 1st grade! I want my students to be excited when it comes to independent or whole group reading, and to see themselves represented in our library. I want them to visit our classroom library, and have the opportunity to browse and choose whichever story connects with them. By having a wide variety of options readily available to them, they will grow as learners and as readers!
