With a class that never gets to leave the room (outside of a 20 minute recess), not even for lunch, it can become challenging to keep the students engaged in learning all day. I am determined to help give my 4 year old students as much as I can to keep purposeful learning in my room. I have spent a lot of time and money to make science and sensory centers and change up my room to accommodate these things but it is hard to do alone. I need your help to maximize the potential and difference that having flexible seating, sensory play, and other fine motor activities in my class. The flexible seating will help my friends make independent choices as well as move and change the way they sit and work in the room. All of the sensory and STEM related items will help fine motor, hand eye coordination, hand strength for writing, engineering geared thinking, and many more! Our academic goals are very important but most students first experience in school so we have a huge emphasis on the social and emotional skills of the children and helping them learn all of the basic skills and structure of a classroom. This is another reason that arts and crafts are a big influence in a lot of my different learning activities. It's an easy and great way to get our students interested and engaged!
