Many Manipulatives for Math!
Funded May 4, 2022My students have had a blast applying math skills and content they have learned throughout the year to these games and activities. Students learn in so many different ways and these resources give my kinesthetic and visual learners a chance to thrive with math concepts.
The students were overjoyed to play games such as Bingo, Splash, and Memory in a fun, competitive way. These resources have provided incredible supplemental materials to support the classroom curriculum and instruction.
Thank you so much for your contribution to this project and making math more accessible and enjoyable for my students.”

Funded Jan 27, 2022Thank you for all of your generous donations to make this project successful. The class set of headphones has been beyond beneficial to student learning and engagement in the classroom. My third grade classes have been very responsible and careful when using the new technology as they know how valuable they are for computer work.
Multiple students are able to be on assignments online at the same time that require use of microphone and/or audio activity. This immensely assists with centers work, online assessments, and class earned game time! The headphones additionally help block out some external sound so students can remain focused on those activities.
The students were so happy to see all of the colorful options and commented on the comfort of the headphones as soon as we unpackaged them. I'm sure they will continue to be an amazing resource for years to come.”

6 feet Apart, but Close at Heart
Funded Dec 2, 2020Thank you so much for helping me fund this project for my classroom. The prior seating arrangements would not have allowed for a safe return to the classroom for my students. The new desks are able to give each child a personal space to work and learn alongside their peers.
Additionally, each student upon returning to school will be able to receive their own bright, colorful bin, into which they can store personal items and avoid contact with high-touch materials and surfaces.
While the pandemic has brought an unprecedented start to the year, my students are resilient and eager to get back into the classroom. The new desks and storage bins have allowed me to bring as many students back into the in-person environment, in a safe manner. I know they cannot wait to be the first students to use these new materials!”

Funded May 6, 2020Thank you for contributing towards this project and getting my classroom the technology we need for a successful return to school! In the midst of the pandemic, students, more than ever, need access to Chromebooks to safely learn in the classroom. With this new charging station, my entire set of classroom Chromebooks can be charged at once, each with its own secure docking port. This new Chromebook charging station eliminates the need for my students to leave the classroom to lock up their laptops in a different location, and allows me to keep better track of where the laptops are all at times, and whether they have a full, loaded battery. We are so grateful to get this incredible piece of technology as an addition to the classroom!”

Funded Aug 7, 2020Thank you for providing my students with age-appropriate, authentic books in Spanish to fill our classroom library! Even currently, while the students are learning remotely, they have had access to these texts through virtual read-alouds.
Students have been able to tackle themes such as identity, understanding and appreciating differences, and social-emotional health through the use of these books. Many of these books are biographies and non-fiction texts that will open the eyes of my students to strong, powerful, Hispanic leaders in the world. I also hope through the topics addressed in many of these books, we can have deeper, richer conversations and students can form connections between these books and their own lives.
I can't wait for my students to hold these books in their own hands once it is safe to do so. I know they will benefit from having these authentic, Spanish texts filling our library and being able to see themselves and their identities reflected in the books in the classroom!”

Funded Sep 14, 2019Thank you for supporting our class project! The printer has brought so much ease and accessibility to materials in the classroom. I can easily provide worksheets and handouts to the students at a moments notice, which keeps my students focused and the classroom running smoothly.
Seeing the students' excitement when the box was delivered was so rewarding. They immediately started asking whether the stories they are typing will be able to be printed in color from our new printer! I can't wait to see the beautiful narratives streaming out, one by one, from our classroom printer!
I also have one student in particular who uses speech to text on Google Drive for all of his writing pieces. He is able to use that application and then have quick and seamless access to his work in front of him, just like the other students.
My class is so appreciative of this amazing technological tool we have the privilege of having right within the walls of our classroom!”

School Supplies to Maximize Success!
Funded Sep 14, 2019Thank you so much for contributing to this project! Seeing all of the boxes being carried into the room and beginning to pile up on the table brought curiosity and excitement into the classroom. Once I opened the boxes and the students saw all of the new, innovative materials being brought into our class, they couldn't wait to start using them!
My students have been able to come to school prepared to learn due to your generous contributions towards these classroom supplies. My students do not need to worry about purchasing their own scissors, glue, highlighters, pencils, markers (and the list goes on), which can be a beginning of the school-year burden for many low-income families. Since I am able to offer any supplies they may need, they always have the tools they need to be successful right at their fingertips.
Not only that, but these materials have promoted group work! For example, with the use of the new clipboard/whiteboards, students will willingly find a place in the classroom to work together collaboratively, showing their work on the dry-erase boards, in order to engage in conversation with their peers.
We are hoping to continue to use and share these materials with one another to keep building and fostering our wonderful classroom community of learners!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Kaye
