As we begin a new chapter in distance learning, I plan to use the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil to aid in student engagement and creation of interactive, exciting lessons. Because my students are learning to read, have speech and language delays, autism, and other disabilities we need pictures, pictures, and more pictures. Using the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil allows me to create lessons in Google Slides with ease. I will be able to record read alouds and post for viewing to meet family needs. The Apple Pencil is the real game changer, allowing me to markup lessons by adding words, labels, notes, visual supports, in my own handwriting. It is the perfect tool for teaching young readers and writers how to form letters, draw pictures, and write. Providing students with these models is invaluable and allows me to use programs such as Handwriting Without Tears to help my students succeed in their learning. This paired with my virtual classroom will support my students in an engaging, creative, and technology forward way. My students and I thank you so much for your support!
