My students are mostly boys ranging in ages 3-5 years with varying degrees of developmental disabilities due to communication and speech impairments. They love water exploration using different tools to measure, pour, and mix colors. I am asking for a water table that is large and deep enough to allow my students to use boats and submarines and compare these objects. Water has a calming and soothing effect on children while nurturing their inner spirit. Water play provides positive social interactions and sharing, turn taking, and collaboration. It allows for estimating and using science inquiry, and best of all water play is just plain FUN!
