My students lack access to technology; yet, they are required to be digitally literate across multiple platforms. The iPad tablets, cases for safety, and mics for sound, will contribute to our curriculum in multiple ways. We will gain practical experience and know-how by using the iPad tablets to develop communication, performance, assessment, and storytelling skills. How? By making films (writing screenplays, acting and directing) for our annual film festival and to compete in statewide contests, by recording scene work, classroom plays, and school-wide productions, by assessing performances and presentations and providing self and peer feedback, by using the tablets as a research tool, and by using apps to help us envision and design the worlds of our stories. We are asking for the cases to help us use the tablets with confidence, as we know we'll be up moving around our school shooting videos. Additionally, the mics will help ensure that we are being heard and understood, be it a performance or a presentation. And, as we write this, we know there are multiple ways to use these tablets that we have yet to conceive of. The possibilities are endless.
