Chromebooks are considered to be the newest revolution in classroom computing. Many educators love how convenient and easy to use Chromebooks are, and appreciate the relatively low cost. Implementing small laptops like Chromebooks instead of iPads teaches students keyboarding and basic computer skills. Digital literacy and keyboarding are essential 21st-century skills for all students to learn, and Chromebooks are optimized to access the plethora of educational resources available on the web. As teachers, we aim to integrate a richer content of concepts and skills into our daily lessons. Chromebooks are a simple and affordable way to place technology and unique skill assignments into the hands of our students. With this in mind, our implementation is quite simple: give students daily opportunities to complete assignments in an innovative way. We will provide them with the tools they require to succeed in a technologically-driven society. Differentiation has never been easier than with this technology; indeed, practically every on-line assignment can be catered to meet students' specific needs. We believe that striking a balance between traditional "paper and pencil" methods as well as utilizing technology resources will be the most beneficial for children today (as well as improve our instructional effectiveness).
