Funded May 14, 2020Thank you for donating to my student's remote learning project "Creativity While Learning".
My student was able to acquire academic and social skills remotely while still having access to materials that he would usually have at school for writing, play, sensory, and relaxation.
The playdoh and playdoh tools were perfect for helping him engage in sensory play. The sneaky snacky game and magnetic tiles granted him opportunities for interactive play with siblings. Also, the number and letter tracing booklets helped him enhance his writing and fine motor skills. These materials were very essential in keeping my student creative and engaged while learning from home.
I am very grateful to all the donors of this project and thank you immensely for caring for my student as much as I do.”

Funded May 13, 2019I am using this opportunity to thank all those that contributed to my last project. In my project, I had described my students thus: "My students tend to be fidgety and usually have a hard time seating for more than 15 minutes for small or whole group instructions. They also require intermittent breaks during independent tasks to help relieve them of stress and to reduce problem behaviors".
My students were excited the first time they saw the items. The sensory toys and seats made a huge impact on my students focusing skills. My students, who used to have a hard time sitting down for an instruction of fifteen minutes, can now do so for up to thirty to forty-five minutes. Incredible! This also works during snack time, pair to pair communication periods, whole group read aloud and media viewing times. Students who do not have sensory forms on their seats, always stiltedly walk to those seats to get a feel.
My students request fidget/sensory toy when needed. They also know to go to the sensory bin to pick a sensory toy of their choice during free play periods. With these items in my classroom, the stress level in both students and adults have reduced and episodes of problem behaviors have gone down.
I now have a classroom where more meaningful learning is taking place and where students and teachers are more focused on achieving instructional goals and objectives, rather than on managing stress and problem behaviors.”

Ms. Esther
