  • Picnic Blankets for the Garden

    Funded Jan 7, 2025

Thank you so much for your incredible support and generosity! Your donation means the world to my students and me. With your help, we are excited to bring picnic blankets into our school garden, creating a cozy space where students can relax, read, and connect with nature.

Your kindness helps foster a love for learning and the outdoors in our school community. I can't wait to share updates on how your contribution is making a difference.”

  • Blooming Futures: Empowering Students With Garden Supplies

    Funded Jan 11, 2024

I am thrilled to express my sincerest gratitude for your recent contributions towards our classroom projects. Your generosity has allowed us to acquire an array of essential resources that have already begun to make a significant impact on the learning experience of my students.

With the AquaSprouts Complete Set from Carolina Biological Supply Company, we have embarked on an exciting journey into aquaponics, integrating hands-on learning about ecosystems and sustainable agriculture. Witnessing the students' fascination as they observe the symbiotic relationship between fish and plants has been truly inspiring.

Upon introducing the DonSail Hoe Garden Tools and the flexible cutting board mats, the students were eager to participate in our gardening and cooking activities. They took pride in tending to our classroom garden and preparing nutritious meals using freshly harvested produce.

The Squishy Stress Balls and Galaxy Putty Slime have provided much-needed sensory relief for students dealing with anxiety and attention difficulties. These tools not only promote relaxation but also foster a sense of camaraderie and inclusivity within the classroom.

Looking ahead, we plan to utilize the Ultra Large River Rocks for a rock painting project, fostering creativity and self-expression among the students. Additionally, the Mini Hot Glue Gun Set will be instrumental in facilitating various arts and crafts activities, further enhancing their fine motor skills and creativity.

As we continue to incorporate these resources into our curriculum, I am confident that they will play a crucial role in fostering a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for all my students.

Once again, thank you for your unwavering support and dedication to enriching the educational experiences of our students. Your kindness and generosity have made a world of difference, and we are truly grateful.”

  • Growing in Our Garden!

    Funded Sep 8, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous gift! It's donors like you that make our work possible. Your contribution is enabling us to accomplish growing our school garden and getting the necessary supplies to keep it maintained. Our students use these materials every single day. You helped bring nature to students who would normally not have the opportunity to witness plants grow. The students are extremely happy and they express their joy to me everyday. You helped bring beauty to our school. You helped bring nature to our students. Thank you!”

  • Magical World of Harry Potter

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

I cannot thank you enough for your donation! My students absolutely loved being transported from their regular class to the wonderful world of Harry Potter! In conjunction with reading the first book, I created fun "herbology class", "charms class", and we even played Quidditch! My readers who normally struggled to read or the ones who hated reading, turned into lovers of the book! It was truly a magical experience. Many of them asked to continue to read the next book of the series! Thank you friends, family and other donors. This was absolutely one of my most favorite projects and I enjoyed watching my readers grow!”

Writing is always a difficult subject for students to master. It is especially difficult for students who speak English as a second language. The pandemic only contributed to the learning gap and has made reading and writing even more difficult for my students to master. I am trying to find new and creative ways to engage my students through project-based learning. The goal of this project is to conduct research on different ocean animals. It will help them develop an understanding of the similarities and differences of organisms’ life cycles. An understanding that organisms have different inherited traits, and that the environment can also affect the traits that an organism develops. This meet the following science standards: 3.LS3.1 & 3.LS3.2. After conducting their research, I will take them through the writing process where they will write an explanatory paper explaining their findings. This will meet the following reading & writing standards: 3.RI.10 & 3.W.2a-d. In addition, the students will use the modeling clay, paint and brushes to create examples of their ocean animals and their ecosystems. Lastly, the students will present their papers and their clay ecosystems to their class and other classes to showcase all that they learned. This will meet the following speaking and listening standards: SL.3.1a, SL.3.4 & SL.3.6. Being away from the classroom for so long and being on the computer has caused my students to have shorter attention spans. They also lack self-motivation and interest in school. My goal is to not only help close the reading and writing gaps that they have, but to do it a fun and engaging way. By choosing a topic that interests them, allowing them to be creative and giving them the opportunity to interact with one another, will help ignite their love of school and learning once again.
