  • Carpet Time With the Swamp Owls

    Thank you so very much for your generous donations. We have loved our big classroom rug. We have so much more room to play during centers, to be spaced out during morning meeting and to dance during united time.

    The rug brightens up our classroom and gives the room even more bright and positive vibes.

    I've used the rug to help students identify colors, rows and columns. We also use the different colors to rotate for table meetings commitments( table 1 go to red, table 2 purple...)

    I'm so grateful for each and every one of you. Teaching is my passion and I want my school babies to have everything to make their first school experience the absolute best. I want them to be comfortable, happy and feel safe.

    It may be just a carpet to some, but to us, it's comfort for learning, for dancing, for napping.

It breaks my heart to hear my students say that they don't have money for colors or a notebook. That is why I would like prepare for next year and have all the supplies needed for my incoming students. I am requesting Crayola markers and crayons, pencils, pencil boxes, pocket folders, construction paper, and headphones. I strive to be the teacher whose classroom is known for kindness and equality. I want all of my students to feel special and important. It hurts my heart to see one student with absolutely no supplies at all and another with top notch supplies. Most of my class understands that some students' parents just don't have enough money and those students are kind enough to share with others, but every now as you know there are a rare few children that can be cruel and make comments about who has the best crayons and who has no crayons at all. I want my ENTIRE class to feel EQUAL and SPECIAL and to know that I will always take care of them. I don't want the first day of school to be an anxious event for students because they are worried about not having the supplies needed for my classroom.
