The double sided easel that I am requesting for our school library will help to give our story times a boost. My students are English language learners and they need visuals for learning a new language.
For every story time, I create vocabulary prompts and mini posters that we read together. With an easel, I could place poster boards and easel sheets with vocabulary in Spanish and English where students could continuously see it.
In the library we read, learn about digital citizenship, Internet safety, research different topics and acquire library skills. Having a large easel would provide additional ways to present information to my students. In addition we use flannel pieces to work on story elements such as sequence, characters, main ideas and compare and contrast. We are eager to add more interactive learning to our library lessons. The easel will help our students have a visual connection during story times at the library.
