Flexible seating has been something I have been thinking about for a couple of year. Thank you for possibly making this vision a reality! I'm so excited about possibly being able to give my students the opportunity to sit where the choose for many reasons! 1.Choice...Students feel empowered by having some degree of choice over their environment. 2. Movement...Children need to move and flexible seating allows them to wobble, rock, bounce, lean or stand, which increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow and core strength. This keeps them ready to learn. 3. Comfort...a comfortable student is a student ready to be productive and learn. 4. Community...Life is all about working together in the real world. If students are allowed to move around to different spots they will be working with multiple people and personalities, this will help them be better prepared for the real world. 5. Sensory Input...A lot of my kids struggle with ADD and ADHD having something to move, or wobble on, or to be able to change position will be great for them when it comes to staying focused and being productive. 2nd graders are children, and children need to move. By implementing multiple seating options I will provide this opportunity for them. Thank you in advance for your support! Heather Davis
