First Year Teacher - Let's Do This!
Funded Jul 30, 2019I cannot express my gratitude enough through words. I am beyond thankful for your kind donation toward my classroom. My special education students absolutely love the green wobble stools. I have noticed a difference in the amount of time they stay working on assignments and activities because of those stools. Other favorites they have are all the different leveled books and also the manipulatives to use during math. When I laid out and showed them all the stuff you gave to my room they were shocked. They couldn't believe how generous you are. "They really gave you ALL this stuff? That's so awesome" one of my 3rd graders said.
Since I am a special education teacher, each student comes to me with very different strengths and needs. The math manipulatives have been used a bunch of times already this school year by my younger students just learning how to count and add. It helps tremendously to have a visual representation in front of them when they first start learning about counting, adding, and subtracting. The books purchased for my room are also being enjoyed already. They are excited to see some books they haven't seen in their library before. I love getting my students excited about reading!
On top of things I have already mentioned; I received mini whiteboards, markers, and erasers. These have been extremely helpful for all the students I have. We use them to write sight words, work out math problems, write the alphabet, practice spelling words, and everything in between!
My students and I have been so grateful for the things we have received thus far. We are still getting items in the mail and I'm just as excited as the students are to open it up! New items that I can directly use with my special education students have been a huge help as a first year teacher. Once again, I cannot say thank you enough!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Pate
