Jenga will be used to reinforce personal finance terminology and concepts using dice and guidelines per each value on the dice. For example, if a student rolls a 3 they have to use the term/concept in a sentence.
The reference guides are used as supplemental materials to give additional explanations for terms/concepts used in personal finance. Students who complete their classwork can work independently or in groups of 2-3 reviewing the materials.
Post It pads and markers are going to be used for anchor charts prepared by the teacher and students. Also, there will be times when a task will require the students to brainstorm.
Play money will be used to teach students how to correctly count change back to others. In today's society, individuals are so dependent on the use of calculators and cash registers. This is a lost skill that everyone need's to learn.
Payday board games will be used throughout the quarter/semester as a filler in between lessons. Students often learn from simple childhood games without realizing they are doing so. Each player will be responsible for documenting his/her cash flow throughout the game.
