Our students learn best when they use their hands. Giving them different things to play with at home and manipulate with their hands will help them develop their fine motor skills.
In school, we have block centers for them to practice being architects and engineers and builders, we can give them the opportunity to practice at home. For many of the students participating in our Extended School Year, we can get them to engage with us over a zoom call while they are working with a toy, like playdoh. We use these toys to have them practice commenting and answering questions.
Music time at school is a favorite of our students. This is when we see them come out of their shells. The music toys will help them participate in daily music time just like in the classroom!
