Imagine an opportunity for students to be naturally inquisitive and inspired by the world around them. That is what I hope to do if my project is funded by generous donors like you. Our Elementary School will see science like never before! The proposed project would include a greenhouse with ecological simulations, including deciduous forest, desert, marine and tropical rainforest ecosystems. Students would witness Ecology come to life, along with testing water sames and viewing life at the microscopic level. This project would be self-sustainable through natural life processes in the simulations and the consistent, continued year-long utilization. Over seventy percent of the students are on free or reduced priced lunch. The greenhouse would also teach students about crops, sustainability and agriculture. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to take fresh vegetables home in their Buddy Packs, a program for students who do not have access to food at home. I humbly ask you to consider the greenhouse proposal as a donor for our school district, as a way to make science engaging and alive, teach students about agriculture and feed youth fresh produce. Thank you so much.
