The mobile wire shelving will support our Reading Workshop instruction model by providing a more accessible, attractive, and clean space to shelve and display books in out classroom library. The current shelving is more than 50 years old, splintered, not very attractive, and collects dirt as we leave our classroom doors and windows open all day. I received a large donation of new young adults that represents many cultures, reading levels, and genres and want to present these books in a way that will encourage more reading. A well organized classroom library will allow students easier access to browse for books they would like to read as they shape their reading identities, encouraging a lifelong love for reading that will not only increase literacy achievement but more importantly shape these young adults into more empathetic and empowered adults.
