  • TATP Recycling Vocational Skills Business

    Funded Oct 1, 2019

My students have benefited from having the right materials to work in different vocational skills. Every day, students have assigned jobs that take place at school. They placed small recycling bins in different offices in our campus, and Twice a week, they go pick up the bins and bring them into the recycling closet, where we have the big recycling bins. Twice a week, students work on sorting out bottles and cans. They have learned how to sort recycle materials and how to go exchange them at the recycling center. Students go once a month to the recycling center, for which they have learned that other than saving our planet, they can get paid for recycling! Thanks to the materials you helped us adquiere, students have learned the importance of recycling!

    Thank you for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Díaz

  • Visual Aids Vocational Awareness Creation for Adults with Different Abilities

    Funded Apr 23, 2019

With the color printer you donated to our program, my students with different abilities have been able to learn functional skills that will lead them to have a functional job later in in their lives. They have been learning how to make visuals that will help many students with different abilities within the Tustin Unified School District. Also, my students have been able to create visual that are useful in our classroom. When they see the job fished and being put in the classrooms, they are happy to see that they are able to help others and themselves! Davis, Michael, Erick, and Savannah have been very active participant in our "Visual Aids Vocational Awareness Creation for Adults with Different a Abilities" voluntary job. Thanks to them, many students within n the Tustin Unified School District are benefiting from having the visuals created by my students on a daily basis!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Díaz

The Tustin Adult Transition Program is teaching job skills to adults with different abilities, who participate in our program. The visuals created by these adults will benefit all schools in the Tustin Unified School District. If any teacher in the Tustin Unified School District (from preschool to the adult transition program) needs visuals such as, Stop Card, Break Cards, Bathroom Cards, Choice Board, Token Systems, First, ____; Then, ____, Visual Schedule, etc, he/she can request what he/she needs through a Google Form. Students will create the visual aids requested, and the visual aids will be sent via mail to the teacher, who requested them. We ask teachers to please take pictures of the visual aids we created, so we can show them to our student. This way we can motivate our students to continue working. This is an important last step because students need to see that their hard work is worth it. For us to have the ability to provide these students with the opportunity to be exposed to different vocational skills through our Visual Aids Vocational Business, we need many supplies, but more importantly, we need a color printer/copier/scanner, so we can print the visual aids we are creating. At this moment, we only create visual aids in black and white, which are not as efficient for student with different abilities, who really need these visual aids. Most students with different abilities relate to these kinds of material, if they are printed in color and with their favorite TV characters or real color items. If we could get the support to have a color printer/copier/scanner, we will be able to provide the right skills for our students.
