This project will assist my students in meeting the goals on their Individualized Education Plans in addition to learning critical academic skills such as letter and number recognition. These materials will provide my students with hands-on learning tools that we can use each day during our ELA and math centers. Because of their disabilities, my students need repetition, hands-on experiences, and rote learning opportunities to learn and retain information. It can get boring working with the same manipulatives day in and day out. It is also time consuming and expensive for me to create high interest centers that meet my students unique learning needs. These materials will add variety and spark interest in my students, encouraging them to practice their ABCs and 123s every day.
