Our class will benefit by having tricycles to use during our outside time. Learning to pedal and steer a tricycle takes perseverance and coordination. Gross motor development and physical development are very important at this age, and having tricycles will encourage children to exercise. Children will learn how to be patient as they wait for their turn on the tricycle.
Tricycles can be used in many ways to enhance learning! Children can use math as they count how long a friend takes to travel a certain distance. Riding from letter card to letter card can help children learn the alphabet and sight words. Spatial awareness, control, following directions and listening are other skills that can be taught by using tricycles. Having tricycles to use now and for years to come will increase our students' learning and development and give them incentive to work hard as they play hard!
