  • Puzzled Readers

    Funded Nov 1, 2021

Thanks you so much for the donation. I was able to order many puzzles that my students can work on independently. Last year, students missed out on coming to school for Kindergarten. Kindergarten is a very important grade to implement those foundational reading skills. These puzzles have helped the students who lacked that foundation. It has strengthened their letter ID and sounds as well as recognizing beginning, middle and end sounds in words. They are also working together and learning how to cooperate with others.”

  • iLearn Through iPads

    Funded Oct 23, 2019

The three Ipads that were donated to our class have made a huge impact on their learning. Students are able to access many learning apps. On these apps they can work on their reading and math. They can also use the record feature to record themselves explaining a problem in math or acting out a story. I have one student who does not need phonics instruction anymore, so he is now able to read books on the app Epic and take quizzes on the books while I am instructing the rest of the class. I can't thank you all enough for your generous donations to our class. They have made a huge impact!”

  • Markers, Colored Pencils, Highlighters, Oh My!

    Funded Jan 23, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donations! Basic art and classroom supplies can ignite learning and make it special. The students will be excited to have and use their own set of colored pencils and the sticky notes and pens will help with their note taking skills. Thank you so much again.”

  • Tablets for Scholars

    Funded Aug 12, 2019

I want to thank you for you generous donation to my classroom. As you know, we only had 2 Ipads in the classroom and I wanted to give my students a chance to develop 21st skills. The donation has allowed me to have a math and a reading center. In the math center they are able to play a game called ST Math that helps build and develop their math skills. During reading centers they can choose to play various learning apps. I have been able to download ABC Mouse, Starfall, a whiteboard app where they can practice writing their high frequency words using a stylus and the Vooks app where students listen and watch stories read to them.

During math, students are solving problems and taking a collection of items and counting them. When they are done they have the opportunity to record a video to explain to the class how they solved a problem or counted their collection. They then present the video to the class. This especially helps my shy students and it helps all the students to develop their presentation skills. They get so excited when it is their turn to record their video.

Thank you again for your donation. I am so happy that I can show them what they can do with technology and take them beyond youtube and games. The tablets have been great for differentiation and I am able to meet all of my students needs.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Carroll

As of right now, my classroom has 1 teacher computer and 1 I pad. We are living in a digital world and I want to give my students opportunities to use technology daily. The tablets will help prepare them for their future and give them 21st century skills. These tablets will also allow them to complete differentiated activities during reading and math centers. Technology enhances the fun in learning and it can make a challenging subject become more interesting to them by incorporating games and videos. The tablets will also allow them to collaborate with one another using google programs.
