  • Pre-K Full STEAM Ahead!

    Funded Dec 21, 2020

Thank you for your kindness in enabling my students the ability to have exposure to STEAM (Sciene, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) at the age of 4. My classroom is mostly composed of girls this school year, so it was exciting to see my students get so involved in the steam projects. They absolutely loved the lego building kits. They build many buildings with size constraints and blue prints. They also built cities that had futuristic implementations for flying cars. One of my handicapped students was engaged with the iPAD in making "iMOVIES" of the lego people in their new iCITY. It has been a great addition to the classroom. I have seen their imaginations go into new realms. Many parents have enjoyed the photos of the children that I send home daily.

THank you again donors for making this happen for my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Stewart

I strive to give all students an equal opportunity in SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY. My students may not have technology or internet usage in the shelter where they live, but I seek to provide it in my classroom. I would like to have two iPads to introduce computer applications and data collection at a PreK level. Having STEM tools and toys will help build young engineers and computer scientists. Exposure at an early age is critical and I believe underprivileged children need equal access. Having access to iPADS and computer applications at an early age will help bridge the digital divide for these digital natives. Becoming familiar with how iPads are navigated, applied, and knowledge is accessed will give a huge advantage to my students. The STEM toys will help build critical thinking skills as they build LEGO formations, solve complex puzzles, and play advanced games. Please help me give my students a chance to reach the stars, the moon and the GALAXY!
