  • Lady Eagles Softball Team

    Thanks to your generous donations we were able to play in the Middle School Athletic League. The girls have ended the regular season and are headed to the playoffs next week! They ended the regular season undefeated.

    They were so excited when they saw the equipment and could not believe the generosity of strangers. One student even remarked that when she gets a job, she plans on funding a project.

    All of the girls are either in the 6th or 7th grade, so they plan on playing again next year. Your donations helped these girls develop what will likely be a lifelong passion. They are thrilled to have a league of their own.”

  • Can Everyone Hear Me? Yes? Good!

    I want to start by expressing my sincerest gratitude. My students from that trying year have gone on to high school. Some stay in touch but all benefited from clearer communication at a time where their lives were turned upside down. During the height of the pandemic, teachers like myself had to teach while wearing a mask. This was a challenge that anyone who has attempted to have a conversation while wearing a mask can appreciate. The technology provided by donors helped me deliver lessons with a mask on. It allowed them to hear me clearly and to learn.”

    This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose 20th Anniversary Fund and 4 other donors.
My students often have difficulty with comprehension as I teach students with disabilities. This year, teachers will have to teach with a mask which for my student population, adds an additional barrier to education both literally and figuratively. I don't want to be a source of frustration in the classroom. The Amplivox will make sure that my students feel and understand that what I am teaching and the messages I am sending are important. I will be able to wear the microphone which will free up my hands to model activities. The handheld mic can be set up by my computer for the days that I am remote. This will increase the effectiveness of every lesson whether remote or in person.

About my class
