The items purchased from this project will help my students in many ways. Headphones are essential for our math and reading programs, which are designed to help fill gaps in prior knowledge. They are also great for watching the videos I make for each math lesson in case students are absent or out on quarantine. The folder system, pencils, card stock, and paper are items that are used daily in class to make it a functioning environment to learn. The resources from this project will help students cement math and science concepts through hands-on activities, games, and manipulatives! Students will be able to dissect owl pellets to build knowledge on food chains, food webs, and even the skeletal system. The scale will allow students to measure and track data for science experiments. Math manipulatives can be used in a small group setting to help cement difficult math concepts such as fractions. Math games can be used during our math centers to review math concepts in a fun and engaging way! The books on science topics will promote curiosity and learning in kid-friendly ways! My students love engaging with these types of books. Due to the COVID-19 closures and virtual learning the past serval years, my students have larger learning gaps than during typical school years. These items will help me work to bridge those gaps in fun and engaging ways. They will also offer enrichment opportunities for students who are performing above the class average. Thank you for considering my project!
