A lot of my students suffer from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. This makes it very difficult for them to learn while seated all day. Teenagers were not meant to sit for six hours a day. They have too much energy. A lot of students in my district learned virtually last year. This gave them a lot of flexibility to get up when they needed. We are now expecting them to sit in classrooms for six hours a day. This has caused some behavioral issues. My hope is that these standing desks will offer students the flexibility to stand and be mobile while also bringing their materials closer to them.
