Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. Currently, my students sit with table groups, some choose to switch seats and work in pairs, while others opt for sitting or lying on the rug. I hope that providing my students with more opportunities to move and work around the classroom that will lead to greater student engagement and decrease the number of peer disruptions. Making sure students feel safe and comfortable are the essential components in motivating student learning. Giving students free choice is empowering and they become more invested in their learning. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. The writing tables and cushions are durable and versatile. They can be used in all content areas for reading, writing or iPad work. They are lightweight and have rounded corners that make them safe and easy to move around the classroom. Its angled work surface also supports good posture. The wobble chair helps students relax and get the wiggles out. While supporting good posture, it provides students with an outlet to move around without distracting others. The fidget bands for the classroom chairs are durable and long-lasting. They promote reduced anxiety and provide a sense of calmness for restless students.
