Teaching 8th grade students about atoms is a tough job. The concept is so abstract for their developing brains. I have used these atom models in another district and they are amazing! The students are able to manipulate the number of neutrons, protons, and electrons. They can use this information to identify the name of the atom and the properties, such as reactivity. Three classroom sets will be enough to use with our entire grade level! The Rebuild Texas Hurricane Harvey Fund is now offering a 5x1 matching grant offer for this project. Your donation will go a long way towards getting these badly needed materials for our campus.
