Over 98 percent of KIPP Inspire Academy's population is African-American. Our new charter school serves over 160 students in St. Louis City. Our school is in the process of creating a community school model where the students, parents and close family members will learn healthier ways of living. Classes are held twice a month on Saturdays at KIPP to help students and parents learn positive ways to manage stress, cope emotionally and improve their lives physically. We will offer classes that teach parents appropriate discipline methods to improve their relationship with their pre-teens and teens attending KIPP Inspire Academy. The students and parents will participate in healthy cooking classes once a month and dance and aerobic classes twice a month. Students and parents will learn how to live healthier in their community while achieving academically. Our school will use a holistic approach to meeting the needs of our students and their families on campus.
