Pre-K small group instruction is at the core of early childhood learning. It is highly beneficial having classroom activity tables that allow each teacher to watch children more closely and observe their behavior when working with a team. Kidney-shaped tables help in focusing on just a few children at a time while they interact and make observation and note taking easier. Currently we have small rectangle tables that only allow four children to sit at a time and they do not give me close proximity to each student. My pre-k class is in desperate need of a kidney-shaped activity table for small group instruction. Our small groups consist of 4-6 students who share the same interests or abilities. To effectively teach in small groups, it is necessary for me to be as attainable as possible permitting me to have eye contact with each student. A kidney table will allow me to sit in the middle of the group, be arms-length away and have equal access to each student. In addition, this type of table would provide more independent space for each student to work on their own tasks when needed. Your help with this project would immensely improve the learning experiences of my students and be greatly appreciated by all future students as well!
