See the Wind!

Help me give my students the ability to “see the wind”. Students learn when they can see what they are learning. These air cannons make the wind waves visible to students. Thus, providing a better learning experience.

  • Building Magnetic Race Cars

    Funded Mar 6, 2023

This project has brought excitement in learning to my students. Students are excited to come to class and learn about magnetism, magnetic fields, and polarity. Students were able to put what they had learned into a fun project. The content taught was used to build, evaluate, and rebuild to achieve the desired results. Thus increasing the learning each step of the way.

These materials allowed my students to build a fun "toy" and helped them understand the scientific concepts presented. We are grateful for the learning opportunity you have provided for us.

    Thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Holbrook

  • Muscular and Skeletal Charts!

    Funded Nov 2, 2022

My anatomy class is using the giant skeletal and muscular posters with their skeleton model. These posters are providing essential visual learning tools to my students. Because they are life-sized, students can easily see the bones and muscles, determine the location of those bones and muscles on both our skeleton and on their own bodies.

My students are enjoying using the posters and exploring the systems of the body.

The posters have been great learning tools and will be valuable learning tools for many years to come!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Holbrook

  • Mobile Bones!

    Funded Nov 2, 2022

Thank you so much for our skeleton! My Anatomy class can now see what we are studying. We begin our lessons by locating the anatomical structure we are studying for the day. Students often compete to see who can correctly locate the structure first.

When our skeleton arrived, he had to be assembled. I opened the box and allowed students to assemble the skeleton. They had a great time discussing which bones to connect. Once it was assembled correctly, the students decided to name "him". Because he needed to be assembled and considering their current topic in history class...they decided upon Napoleon "Bone"apart.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Holbrook

  • Make Biology Fun!

    Funded Sep 11, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our classroom. My students were so surprised to learn that we had a "game" to play in science class. They were even more surprised to learn that someone, they nor I had ever met, purchased the games for them.

When I first introduced the games, as I stated, my students were surprised someone had purchased the games for them, then they were a little scared. They had never seen or heard of a game for science. Once we began playing, they quickly fell in love with the games.

Students who once dreaded science now enter my classroom smiling and asking to play the game. Students are even planning an end of the year game tournament. They love playing! The best part, they forget they are learning. Each time I finish a topic, we play the game. The content is perfectly aligned with our state standards and helps to improve student engagement and test scores!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Holbrook

In order for my students to keep up with the rest of the state and nation, we need accessible technology. Students in my classroom are learning writing skills, but without learning how to use writing programs like GoogleDocs and Word they are being left behind. I would like them to have laptops in order to learn how to better communicate and produce their writing. Learning basic writing skills at this level would provide a solid foundation for developing advanced skills that will be invaluable in high school, college, and in future careers. Please help me prepare my students for a successful future.
