Neurodiversity and Self-Advocacy Class Supplies
Funded May 21, 2024Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for your generosity. We have started reading one of the books your donations provided in class, we have students who are having their regulation needs met from the Mp3 players and fidgets you provided, and our students who don't always have access to the food they are comfortable eating have options we store in our room for them!
We are so lucky to have a community supporting us in doing what we can to meet the needs of our students. There are so many things we could say about what our students deserve versus what the school system is able to provide...you have helped us narrow this gap just a bit.
As a note, I will own the fact that figuring out how to work the mp3 players is beyond my cognitive capacity...so we are also grateful to our students, who have helped me navigate this new tech and make it accessible for their peers.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Greta
This classroom project was brought to life by An Anonymous Supporter and 3 other donors.Support Disabled Student's Access to the Arts!
Funded Feb 23, 2023Thank you so much for helping this wonderful event become a reality for our students. During Neurodiversity Celebration Week, we hosted the incredible Annie Rose Macer for a workshop on her unique art style. Students from across the school came together to hear Annie speak and to learn from her. She was so inspiring, that for the rest of the year we had a collaborative collage art project going on our classroom wall.
I am late writing this thank you note because my district is on strike. I have been out of the classroom since November 1st, and I MISS my students so much. I have the absolute best students...many have shown up on the pickets lines to march with us during the strike, and their kindness and dedication makes me even more grateful for people like you, who can bridge the gap between over-streched schools and ambitious, passionate educators to bring transformative experiences to students.
Virginia and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

Supportive Sensory Materials
Funded Jan 9, 2022Thank you so much for supporting our students by donating to build our library of books by neurodivergent authors and a quiet comfortable space in which to read or re-regulate.
I have students reading books with characters who reflect their lived experience, and that is so valuable!
Our sensory space includes a weighted blanket, lots of fidgets, a comfortable seat, and headphones to manage noise. Students frequently access this space throughout the day.
We are so grateful for your help!

They're Not Broken
Funded Sep 16, 2021Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for supporting our endeavor to introduce our students to books written by and about autistic people. We have students (and some teachers and parents!) reading We're Not Broken by Eric Garcia as a class. We are working hard to redefine our community narrative around disability and autism, and your generosity had a direct impact on that work.
Some of the other books we purchased are currently at home with students, and we even have a lending library waiting list!
We appreciate you, and your willingness to give.
Thank you!~”
With gratitude,
Ms. Greta
