  • Desk-perately Seeking Help!

    Funded Oct 21, 2024

We sincerely appreciate your support for our desk storage project. The students were thrilled to discover the vibrant bins when they returned to class at the end of October, sparking their curiosity. When I informed them that each would have their own bin and designated space, their excitement was palpable. After a couple of months of using them, we can confidently say they have been a game changer! The students are now much more organized, as they can keep their books and supplies separate from their desk partners. With 40 students and only 20 desks, managing transitions can be challenging, but the bins simplify the process. Moving students to different desks is a breeze; we just grab the bin, and they're ready to go in no time.

Once again, thank you for your invaluable support from all of us in the classroom.

    Warm regards,

Mrs. Fiocchi and 4th Grade Students”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fiocchi

  • Growing Hearts and Minds!

    Funded Dec 8, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous TPT gift card donation! We have put it to good use. One of my favorite resources that I have purchased with it is the "Wonder" lesson. We read the book "We Are All Wonders" in class and talked about the theme of the book: Accepting and embracing our uniqueness/differences. Then, students brainstormed what makes them unique and a "wonder." You would be surprised at how many students had difficulty finding the wonder in themselves. One little girl, talked about her crazy wild hair. She would always wear it back in a tight ponytail. After the lesson, I noticed that this student now wears her hair down and is ok that her hair is different from others...she now sees this as a positive! Mission accomplished! I always strive to create an accepting environment in our classroom and this makes my heart happy :)”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fiocchi

  • Hear Ye Hear Ye!!! Listen, Learn, Live!

    Funded Mar 27, 2019

Thank you for the extreme generosity that you have shown. My students are fortunate to have the quality headphones that you helped fund. The students have been enjoying these headphones in numerous ways. Our classroom is an inclusion classroom and we have 6 special ed students with us. They utilize the headphones on a daily basis. All assessments and activities online are read to the students with the help of an app. Students can now listen with privacy with the headphones and go at their own pace with the assignment, replaying the audio as needed. Other ways the students have enjoyed the headphones, is by listening to youtube videos that go along with our lessons. They have also used them for spelling assessments. During their center time, they can go on reading websites as well as math websites and can now listen to the audio. My plans for the future are to introduce podcasts to the students and have them use them during our reading/writing block. Students will be able to choose a podcast that interests them. They can listen to it, thanks to the headphones, and then will write a reflective piece to accompany the podcast. So once again, thank you for the support that you have given to my classroom. We are in an extremely poor district, where funding is limited so thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

    With gratitude,

Technology is exploding all around us every day and students need to move forward with it. I am so excited that within the past couple of years our school has a 1 to 1 ratio of student to Chromebook. However, in our district budget cuts every year become steeper. It has become difficult for educators to maintain classroom supplies such as paper, ink, and headphones. It is no secret that kids love using technology. They especially like audio books, educational videos (especially science), and math games. Technology if utilized correctly can enhance a lesson and spark students' interests. Unfortunately, because of our budget, we do not receive new headphones each year. Most of them are several years old and either have exposed wires or are not in good condition. When they break, they are not replaced immediately. We have resorted to sharing headphones and also asking students to bring in earbuds. Currently, we have no extra headphones. So if I receive a new student he/she will have none. I am requesting a new set of headphones to enhance my students' learning in our classroom. Please consider donating to this project, no matter how big or small it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for helping out our school community!
