Fueling My Students
Funded Sep 24, 2021My students are I are very grateful for your generous donations of the snacks provided for my homeroom. These students often come to my homeroom without having had breakfast yet, so these snacks were very helpful for their concentration throughout the day. It may not be much, but to my students, it was just what they needed. They are already asking me when I will create a new project, which will be happening shortly! Again, we all thank you for your generosity, and for helping my students be more successful in school.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Steffes

Funded Sep 16, 2020To begin, my students and I would like to thank each and every one of you again for your generosity and support in our virtual classroom. The online curriculum I was able to buy has provided my students with various engaging activities, providing them with multiple ways to show their learning in class.
A few of the activities include cartoon/comic strips, reading challenges, listening challenges, writing challenges, speaking challenges, sentence scrambles, and self-paced graded activities.
Students have been challenged with all of the above activities, but have also been very appreciative of the fact that we have not been doing the same things in class on a daily basis. Each and every activity we have done will only make their overall language comprehension that much better! Again, thank you all so much for supporting my classroom. It truly means the world to myself and my students.”

Making Mentor Memories
Funded Aug 22, 2019Freshman orientation day was a HUGE success thanks to the materials received from my donors choose project! The Junior and Senior mentors were able to use the painters tape in order to hang Freshman locker signs and various other decorations around the school. They used the hoola hoops as part of a team building activity for our incoming students. The water balloons made for an exciting outdoor game where students had to work together to outlast their opponents in a balloon toss. Lastly, the marshmallows were used to have s'mores during lunch, since the theme for our day was camping!
The incoming Freshman students were excited, and curious, to see why we had our school decorated as a campground. Once they learned that was the theme for their year, they loved participating in all of the activities we had set up for them. Whether they were doing the outdoor adventure course, or the indoor scavenger hunt, every student loved the amount of time and effort put into making them feel welcomed into our school
The next project I have planned for my students involved decoration and reading materials for my Spanish classroom. I would love to fund a project which includes flags for every Spanish speaking country, various posters to enhance my classroom setting, short stories to read as a class, and perhaps even a fan or two since my classroom does not have air conditioning!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Steffes
