Sensory Support for Special Learners!

Funded Apr 20, 2019

We are so very grateful for your donations that have offered integral sensory support to help our students be successful! Our classroom is made up of diverse learners with a LOT of different needs. Many of our students have trouble staying regulated. This means their bodies and brains have trouble organizing sensory information, or information from the environment around us. Some learners may get overstimulated by lights, sounds, textures, and other things around them. Some learners need more input, like deep pressure or something to squeeze. Your donations have helped with sensory integration for all of our students! Our lycra suit gives our students an opportunity to move and stretch their bodies while getting resistance, offering much needed sensory input. Our seat cushions help our learners who fidget and/or have sensory processing issues, and can help our students remain calm and focused. Theraputty allows us to work on fine motor skills and hand strength while having fun! These are now things we use every single day. Our classroom of special learners requires this extra support to stay regulated and be successful in the classroom. Your donations towards our project have helped make this possible for us!”

With gratitude,

Ms. Kristin
