For students to learn they must feel safe, have their basic needs met, and be emotionally regulated. Our sensory room exists to address these needs and help a student be emotionally and physically ready to succeed in the learning environment. Students will select each exercise based on a self report of how they are feeling: green, yellow, or blue. Once their current level is identified they will select an activity from a menu designed to bring them back to a state of emotional regulation. Staff will be present to assist each student in identifying their feelings and choosing an activity.
