Play It! Slay It! Share It! Snap It!
Funded Mar 31, 2025Help My Students Music Classroom Thrive in 2025!
Funded Dec 21, 2024Thank you so much for your donations. Your support has made such a position impact in my classroom. The rug has been a transformative fixture in my classroom environment. The opportunity for each child to have their own square spot not only reinforces a sense of safety but it also provides a structure to the music room. The
Febreeze spray bottles keeps the carpet fresh, engaging the sense of smell for our students who are more ready to learn in a clean environment.
The desk bells have brought so much joy to the lower grade students at PS32. Although they can be loud when everyone is playing them, the noise cancelling headphones you provided allows for everyone to participate without the stress of being overly stimulated.
Over the past two months, there have been two instances where afterschool chorus did not have any snacks provided by my school. Your donations ensured that they could have a small snacks before chorus rehearsals afterschool on Thursdays.
This winter season has also been filled with an increased amount of germs school wide. In 2025, my school community has had various flu, stomach bug, and COVID outbreaks. Your donations of lysol cleaning wipes and tissues helped to keep the music room clean from these germs during the various outbreaks.
I am most grateful for your support to help my music program at PS32 thrive during these strenuous times in our world.”

Music Learning Space for All!
Funded Sep 17, 2022Thank you so much for your support! We have been making incredible music over the last couple of months thanks to your support! All keyboards purchased in the first project are fully functional with batteries, letter name labels, and the perfect place to store them thanks to the ukulele racks you have provided. In addition, the students LOVE the headphones. Students can work at their own pace and share headphones with friends when they want their peers to hear their work. The option to choose a variety of colors was also a big hit. It has felt so collaborative and joyful.
The drumstick covers have worked miracles in 1st grade. I have a few students who have aural sensitivities. Bucket drumming has been challenging in the past. This year, our drumming unit was amazing now that we have the flexibility to put on covers. Everyone was able to safely participate with their needs at the forefront.
Lastly, what's not pictured is the new "Student Wall of Fame". After every music class, one student is selected to be featured as the all star of the class. Using the new camera that you provided, I am able to display student musicians inside the classroom. This is a transformative practice in which students can see themselves as the brilliant musicians that they are.
We are beyond grateful to have your support and for choosing to fund the music program at PS32. I hope you have a fantastic holiday season!”

Pianos in Music for Every Child!
Funded Sep 12, 2022It has been an amazing couple of months for music making at PS32. The pianos have been a source of great joy, inspiration, accessibility, and creativity. We just had our first Winter Showcase this week after a 3 year in-person hiatus due to the pandemic. I share this with you because one student in particular was able to use the piano at the winter show in an innovative way. Currently, 2nd grade students are exploring a variety of melodic and pitched instruments. Xylophone was our instrumental focus this winter. Unfortunately, this student was unable to use this instrument as its heavy and the coordination of hitting the mallets to the bar was an overwhelming experience. As an alternative, this student was extremely successful playing the same melody on the new pianos you have donated to the school. To see this student light up and be featured in our winter showcase playing the piano is just the kind of impact that your donation has provided for all of my students.
In the photos shared below, students are exploring piano for the first time and preparing to do a deep dive unit into songwriting using these newly purchased pianos. I am so grateful for your support and donations to provide evert student with an instrument. Thank you so much!”
