At Vega Collegiate Academy, we're doing something special: We're preparing our students to compete academically beyond our walls when they get to high school and college. Our math program has achieved great things, and I want to make sure our science program does as well. I have taught this year's 7th graders since they were 6th graders, and their curiosity and excitement for science is unparalleled. They want to dive into the subject and learn all they can! Microscopes provide opportunities for students to observe, question, do, and discuss, and they can be used across the curriculum in many scientific subjects. They allow for deeper thinking and making connections. While using microscopes to explore topics, students are learning to do and understand rather than simply memorizing facts given by their teacher. It is essential to be able to do this beyond middle school and high school. Learning how starts young, and that is why I'd like to provide this very special resource to our very special students and school.
