Small Groups = Big Success!
Funded Aug 8, 2024The materials that have been provided through your generous donations have made a huge impact on the students in my classroom. The stacking stools are exactly what I needed to have efficient small groups at my kidney table. These lightweight stools have provided seats for up 5 students to read and practice skills as a team or one on one with me. We also use these stools to sit in different areas and collaborate.
Another item that I have been utilizing daily are the primary journals. My students practice their writing skills in these journals and are rewarded with the scented stickers that were purchased. The scented stickers are a fun way to motivate them to try their best. They can't wait to smell all the new ones!
The phonics dominoes are teaching them many phonics skills at the same time. They are using their knowledge of vowel sounds, digraphs, and blends to name a few. They love to share all the words they have made. To practice writing and spelling, my students use the white boards often. We also use them for practicing math concepts.
I am so thankful for donors like you that help my students achieve success!”

Learn and Play in an Organized Way!
Funded Jul 19, 2024I can't truly express my gratitude for helping me purchase a new classroom this year. Not only does it brighten up my classroom with its vibrant colors, but it makes the space seem so cheerful and inviting. I chose a rug with squares so each child felt they had a special space in my room where they could feel comfortable to learn new things. There are more than enough squares for us to spread out and see the board, tv, and listen to stories. We gather on this rug each morning to discuss our day ahead, hear a story, begin phonics instruction. This is a safe space for all my students to share their feelings, life events, and ask questions.
This rug arrived right before the first day of school, so my students didn't know what the classroom looked like before. I still had several comments from my female students telling me how pretty they thought it looked and they loved the subtle polka dots. The teachers in my building all had glowing comments and couldn't believe how much it changed the look of my room.
This rug is used beyond whole group instruction. My students use this space as a soft place to play and engage in STEM activities. They have been learning how to design and build using a variety of materials. I also use this space as a place to sit with a small group to differentiate my instruction to fit their needs. My next project involves incorporating STEM materials and lessons for my students.
Again, I am forever grateful of your generosity and the love shown for students.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Vandal
