During our ELA block, my students partake in Guiding Reading instruction that allows my students flexibility of their own learning. While a group of students are sent off to explicit centers to work on reading and writing. Not only do the students enjoy the centers, but the centers help the students with the skills they are learning. Students are having so much fun they do not realize they are learning. It would be very beneficial to have the new centers in my classroom because students can express their learning individually and with their peers while playing and building essential reading skills needed for success in Kindergarten and beyond.
