  • Cubs Crave Technology!

    Funded Feb 19, 2023

Thank you so much for donating towards my project! The Chromebooks are used regularly by my students to enhance their learning. My school district is not 1-to-1 with technology at the elementary level. Each school is given a certain number of computers to share among all teachers. Because of this, the Chromebooks purchased with your donation supplement the devices I was given to use in my class.

Students use the devices for a variety of reasons. They can access books online to read or follow along with an audiobook. Our school uses an online resource that differentiates lessons to close learning gaps or to enrich students in math, reading, and language arts. The students they also conduct research for new information or images to support learning. Of course their favorite is playing educational games, like on the website Prodigy.

Thank you again! I truly appreciate your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Limbert

  • A Seat at the Table

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

My students have been using our new stools for a few months. They are a wonderful addition to our classroom! The kids were so excited when I first showed them the stools. We had a talk about respecting the new furniture and treating it gently. The students know that the generosity of others helped us obtain these stools.

The stools are good quality, as I hoped. They are sturdy but not too heavy. They are comfortable for both my third graders and me use. When the students are done using the stools, they easily slide under my small group table so they are out of the way.

The stools have a number of uses through out the day. Most often they are used when I work with a few students at my small group table. Students may also use them when working with a partner or two while practicing reading fluency or collaborating on work. These stools are exactly what our classroom needed.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Limbert

  • Cubs Crave Technology!

    Funded Nov 4, 2019

Thank you so much for donating to our classroom's project. For years, I have had three desktop computers in my classroom provided by the school district. These computers are used by students during guided group time. The students access educational websites to reinforce skills we work on in class. Our school has been growing and so has my class size. I now have between 22-26 students in my class. The three district-provided computers are just not enough to support the number of students in each group. Enter Donors Choose and generous donors like you! I've had two projects fulfilled and now have 4 Chrome Books in my classroom in addition to the laptops. Having seven devices available for students really makes a difference during group time.

Increasing the number of devices available in my classroom has opened additional learning opportunities for my students. Our technology facilitator has introduced new ways to engage students in our classes. Using websites like Padlet and Flipgrid are exciting for students. Now that I have more devices for students use, I am eager to incorporate them into my lessons.

Our school district allows students to bring their own devices to school for educational purposes. However, my school is a Title I building and more than half of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Even though students can bring devices, many of my students do not have the technology to bring in. Your donations have helped bring technology into my classroom that otherwise would not be available. My students and I am incredibly grateful for your support.”

Chromebooks will help my students in a variety of ways. We only have three desktop computers for 23 students. Our school allows students to bring their own devices, however many of my students do not have technology to bring in. Allowing students to have technology also opens them up to the various resources offered in the online world that are more interesting, diverse, and relevant to their lives. I am passionate about helping my students succeed in every way. Having Chromebooks available for students to use would mean that everyone can have a voice in their learning. We will be able to utilize the Chromebooks for tech tools like Flipgrid and NearPod. With these Chromebooks, students will also have immediate access to relevant information, which is so important to hook my 3rd graders into learning!
