Sensory items are crucial to helping students learn how to control their emotions. The materials listed will help my students learn strategies to help themselves calm down. These sensory tools are stepping stones for them to be able to cope with their feelings individually and internally. Sensory items are very individualized- meaning each student will need something different and unique to them. Some students prefer kinetic items- things they can touch with their hands- like legos or kinetic sand. Others prefer dark spots where they can escape visual simulation. Some students might prefer watching repetitive motions- like bubbles moving or glitter settling. Coloring is a way to use all of your sense in order to calm down. Your donations will help me meet each students' unique needs.
