Book cases that allow students to rummage through to find that “just right” book are a necessity for reading. Moveable cases will allow me to arrange comfortable reading areas to encourage students to read. Currently the bookcases I have are high, narrow and stationary. My school embraces the Readers and Writers workshop model. We want our students reading at least 30 minutes daily in the classroom. I have multiple book bins from which the students pick books based on their reading level. But I need a place to put the bins so students can easily find a book. The set up of the reading space is a highly important piece of the reading workshop.
