The books I am requesting for my students fill a very specific need- a classroom book shelf, with Lexiled books I can easily point kids toward based on their level. We have a small library at my school, the a very limited selection of books. After our school was flooded this winter, even less. My students need books that will interest them at the variety of reading levels they exist in. The possibility I've created for students is for each student present in my classroom to read on or above grade-level- but I need your help. My kiddos might not have the money, time, or accessibility to go to a library and take out a book due to socio-economic restrictions. It is my hope that by having a staple library in my classroom, students will be able to read and grow with my support.
