Every student deserves to have a safe place to heal. Gratefully I have been assigned to provide the students with this. The toys, art supplies and games you provide for these students will allow them to open up and explore the deeper issues that are affecting all aspects of their lives. I can then teach the coping skills necessary to deal with the challenges they face. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve a student's mental and emotional health, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement, and hopefully their societal contribution. We will do various art projects that reveal and heal the parts that are deeply hurting. One of these is making soul-collage cards representing different aspects of their personality, better enabling them to understand themselves and the people in their lives. Another might be drawing or painting a picture of their inner critic so they can learn to dis-identify with the negative thoughts that keep them from doing their best. Painting, drawing, playing games while talking are the tools we need so thank you for considering this. I truly want the best for these kids and these supplies will help make healing possible.
